The hydraulic shearing machine is key equipment for achieving high-precision plate cutting in the metal processing field. It provides controllable shearing force through a hydraulic transmission system, meeting the processing requirements of various specifications from ultra-thin to thick plates. Its technical core lies in the coordinated operation of the hydraulic system and precision control.

Core Structural System

The equipment consists of five key modules, which work precisely together to complete the entire process from feeding to cutting.

High-strength body: Made of high-quality Q345B steel plates welded together, it undergoes annealing treatment to eliminate internal stress, ensuring no deformation during long-term operation. The middle of the machine body is equipped with a fixed lower tool rest and an adjustable material support device. The height of the support can be adjusted steplessly within the range of 80–300 mm, meeting the support requirements of plates of different thicknesses.

Hydraulic drive unit: The core components include a variable pump, accumulator, double cylinders, and an electro-hydraulic proportional valve. The combination of variable pumps and accumulators for oil supply ensures sufficient shear force while reducing energy consumption-saving approximately 25% compared with traditional fixed-displacement pump systems. The dual oil cylinders adopt synchronous technology. Through feedback from precision servo valves and grating rulers, synchronization accuracy can reach ±0.03 mm.

Shearing actuator: The upper knife rest is equipped with replaceable blades driven downward by hydraulic power at an inclination angle of 1°–2°. This progressive cutting method reduces energy consumption by more than 30%. The blade clearance is adjusted by an electric worm gear and worm mechanism, which automatically calculates the optimal clearance value based on sheet thickness.

Numerical control system: Mainstream models adopt a PLC–touchscreen combination, featuring hundreds of standard processing parameter libraries and support for custom program storage.

Safety protection system: Equipped with two-hand operation buttons, photoelectric protection devices, and mechanical safety locks. The system automatically locks the tool rest when power is off.

Core Working Principle

The equipment achieves precise cutting through the combined action of hydraulic transmission and mechanical shearing.

Feeding and positioning: Plates are conveyed to the cutting area by the automatic feeding mechanism. The photoelectric sensor detects the edge position and sends feedback to the control system for precise positioning.

Pressure establishment: The motor drives the hydraulic pump to generate high-pressure oil, which is regulated by the electro-hydraulic proportional valve before entering the dual cylinders. The system pressure is monitored in real time and maintained within the set range.

Progressive cutting: When the pressure reaches the threshold, the upper tool rest gradually cuts into the sheet at an inclined angle. Through the lever principle, the shearing force is amplified, enabling easy cutting of special steel up to 40 mm thick.

Return and reset: After cutting, the hydraulic system enables the upper tool rest to return quickly through the differential circuit, improving operational rhythm. Meanwhile, the overload protection device automatically opens the relief valve when the shearing force exceeds the limit to prevent equipment damage.

Core Advantages

Compared with mechanical shearing machines and manual cutting, hydraulic shearing machines achieve comprehensive improvements in efficiency, precision, and cost.

  •  Efficiency improvement: Capacity increased by 30%, suitable for large-scale production

The combination of a hydraulic drive and automation system significantly enhances operational efficiency.

Cutting speed: High-end models can complete 15–20 cuts per minute. Combined with an automatic feeding system, production capacity is 30% higher than that of traditional mechanical shearing machines.

Continuous operation: The dual-cylinder synchronous drive and rapid return design enable a daily production capacity of up to 50 tons (9 hours).

Process integration: Some models integrate feeding, cutting, and blanking processes, reducing material transport time.

  •  Precision enhancement: Millimeter-level accuracy, finished product qualification rate above 99%

Thanks to precision control technology, processing accuracy far exceeds industry standards.

Dimensional accuracy: Closed-loop control with a grating ruler and servo drive ensures cutting length error ≤ ±0.05 mm and angle error ± 0.1°, surpassing the industry standard of ± 1°.

Consistency: Digital control eliminates variation in manual operation. The dimensional deviation in batch processing is less than 0.3 mm, and the qualification rate has increased from 85% (manual) to over 99%.

Material compatibility: Parameter optimization allows the machine to process carbon steel, stainless steel, and titanium alloys. Cut edges are smooth and burr-free, requiring no additional grinding.
