
At the construction site of China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group's BRZQ-1 project in Nyingchi, Tibet, an intelligent mesh welding production line has officially been put into operation. The commissioning of this equipment marks a new stage of automation and intelligent manufacturing in the project's rebar processing operations. It not only significantly improves construction efficiency and product quality for the plateau railway project, but also represents a practical achievement in bringing advanced equipment and innovative technologies to southeastern Tibet, supporting local infrastructure development.
The BRZQ-1 section passes through high-altitude areas with complex geological conditions, where construction faces harsh environmental challenges, strict quality requirements, and a large demand for reinforcement mesh of various specifications. Traditional manual welding methods often struggle to meet project requirements due to lower productivity, limited accuracy, and high labor intensity, making it difficult to support the efficient progress of plateau construction.
To address these challenges, Xuhui's project team introduced this intelligent mesh welding production line as a core solution specifically designed for demanding plateau construction conditions.



The production line integrates a fully automated process, including automatic feeding, precise straightening, CNC cutting, intelligent welding, and finished-product stacking. Equipped with a PLC intelligent control system and high-precision welding modules, the line can flexibly produce reinforcement mesh in various specifications. Weld positioning accuracy is controlled within ±0.2 mm, ensuring strong and uniform welds. The finished mesh panels are flat, consistent, and dimensionally accurate, significantly outperforming traditional manual welding methods. Product qualification rates remain above 99%.
In addition, the system features an intelligent monitoring platform that provides real-time production data visibility and early warning notifications for potential equipment issues. This enables digital management throughout the entire production process while reducing the need for continuous manual supervision. By minimizing manual intervention and reducing prolonged high-intensity outdoor work in the plateau environment, the production line not only improves operational efficiency but also helps reduce construction safety risks for on-site personnel.
On-Site Application in Action
Stepping into the rebar processing workshop, you can immediately see the intelligent mesh welding production line operating smoothly and efficiently. Robotic arms automatically pick up steel bars, position them with precision, and complete the welding process without manual intervention. Within moments, sparks flash and perfectly formed steel mesh panels are produced one after another. The entire production line requires only one to two operators to oversee the complete workflow.
"Previously, producing a standard mesh panel manually required three or four workers working together for nearly an hour, and issues such as misaligned welds and mesh deformation were common. Now, with this intelligent production line independently developed and manufactured by Xuhui Intelligent Equipment, we can produce hundreds of square meters of qualified mesh panels every day. Production efficiency has increased by more than three times, while labor requirements have been reduced by approximately 70%. Challenges such as low welding efficiency, inconsistent product quality, and heavy labor intensity have been effectively resolved," said the manager responsible for rebar processing at the project site.
The mesh panels produced by the line can be directly applied to key construction areas, including tunnel support systems, bridge pile caps, and roadbed protection works. Their processing accuracy fully meets project specifications, while the consistent quality helps ensure smoother coordination and progress throughout subsequent construction stages.
