Xuhui Helps Build Smart Rebar Processing Center for Chengdu–Emeishan Expressway
The Chengdu–Emeishan Expressway (S6) is a key project under China's 14th Five-Year Plan. It connects the Chengdu metropolitan area with the Emeishan scenic region, running about 81.39 km from Pengshan to Emeishan. As a major transport corridor, it plays an important role in improving regional connectivity and supporting tourism development.

To keep the project moving efficiently and to a high standard, Xuhui (Shandong) Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. worked together with China Railway No.2 Engineering Group to build a dedicated intelligent rebar processing and distribution center. The goal is simple-use smart equipment and a fully integrated system to provide stable, accurate, and efficient rebar supply for foundations, bridges, and road structures.
Smart Production Center: Digital Control, Better Efficiency
The center is built around connected smart equipment and digital management. From production orders to finished product delivery, everything is linked together, cutting down manual work and making the whole process easier to track and control.

- This setup helps move construction toward more industrialized production, smarter operations, and standardized processes-avoiding the inefficiency and inconsistency of traditional rebar processing.
Overall Layout: Scalable Capacity with Clear Zoning
The center covers about 7,500 m², with a planned processing volume of around 45,000 tons of rebar. It handles centralized processing and delivery for pile cages and other structural components along the entire highway.


The facility is divided into two main zones
- Pile cage processing area
- General rebar component processing area
This layout keeps workflows from interfering with each other, improves efficiency, and ensures steady production and on-time delivery.
Rebar Cage Production: Automated, Efficient, High Precision
For pile cages-one of the most critical components-the center uses a fully automated production line with minimal manpower and high accuracy.
Rebar cutting & threading line
Only one operator is needed to complete automatic cutting and thread processing. It delivers precise dimensions and clean threads, improving connection quality and efficiency.
Fully automatic rebar cage welding workstation (first of its kind in China)
This system integrates:
- Automatic main bar feeding
- Automatic alignment and spacing
- Automatic stirrup feeding
- Fully automatic welding and continuous spiral welding
- Automatic cage unloading
The whole process runs with just 1–2 operators, compared to traditional manual work
Much lower labor intensity

Precise control of bar spacing via servo systems
Stored parameters for quick switching between different cage designs
