Basic Understanding of the Steel Bar Bending Center

(1) Definition and Function

A steel bar bending center is an automated mechanical device specifically designed for bending reinforcing steel bars. It plays a crucial role in construction, steel bar processing, and distribution.

Its core function is to precisely bend straight steel bars into various required shapes based on preset bending angles, dimensions, and configurations. Common shapes include "L", "U", and "S" forms. These shapes are used to meet reinforcement layout requirements in different structural parts, such as:

Complex anchoring hooks at beam-column joints in building frames,Bending of floor reinforcement bars,By ensuring that steel bars are shaped accurately, the bending center is critical for maintaining the stability and safety of building structures.

(2) Working Principle

The working principle of a steel bar bending center is based on the coordination of motor drive, mechanical transmission, and numerical control for precise shaping.

Taking a common CNC steel bar bending center as an example:

Power Source: Typically a three-phase asynchronous motor.

Torque Transmission: The motor's rotational power is reduced in speed and increased in torque via a reducer, then transmitted to the bending spindle.

Positioning: When the steel bars reach the designated position, a positioning device locks them in place to prevent shifting during bending.

CNC Control: The numerical control system precisely regulates the bending spindle's rotation angle and direction based on the preset program. The bending die then applies force to bend the steel bar into the required shape.

Example:

To form an "L" shape, the CNC system rotates the bending spindle 90°, completing one bend.

For more complex shapes, the system performs multiple controlled rotations combined with the precise feeding of steel bars to achieve the desired configurations.

(3) Main Types

a) CNC Steel Bar Bending Center

This type integrates advanced CNC technology, using a computer control system as its core.

Automation: Operators input parameters such as diameter, bending angles, and bending shapes directly into the interface.

The machine then automatically completes feeding, positioning, bending, and cutting.

Precision:Angle deviation: within ±1°,Length deviation: around ±2 mm

Applications: Ideal for large-scale construction projects requiring high precision, such as super high-rise buildings and large bridges.

Efficiency:Features graphic storage and retrieval, capable of storing hundreds of commonly used steel bar shapes. Greatly improves production efficiency.

Market adoption: Currently the most widely used type of bending center.

b) Vertical Steel Bar Bending Center

Design: Uses a vertical structure, making it space-efficient-ideal for construction sites with limited space.

Operation: Steel bars are placed vertically on the workbench, and the bending mechanism operates from the side.

Advantages:Reduces bending deformation caused by the self-weight of long bars. Simplifies loading and unloading. Makes it easier for operators to monitor the process.

c) Multi-Head Steel Bar Bending Center

Functionality: Equipped with multiple bending heads, allowing simultaneous processing of several steel bars.

Independent Control: Each head can be controlled separately with customized bending parameters, enabling diverse processing capabilities.
