The steel bar straightening and cutting machine is specialized equipment that uses mechanical transmission and digital control as its core.  It eliminates the bending stress of steel bars through the straightening mechanism and then performs fixed-length cutting through the cutting mechanism.  Its core value lies in solving the problem of bending deformation in steel bar raw materials (round steel bars and straight steel bars), replacing inefficient traditional manual hammering, straightening, and cutting methods.  It realizes the standardization of steel bar processing in advance, the precision of length determination, and improved production efficiency.  It serves as the first key process equipment in the steel bar processing workflow for fields such as construction, infrastructure, and prefabricated components.

Core Components and Process Flow

Composition of Key Equipment

The entire set of equipment is composed of seven core systems working in coordination to ensure precise and stable straightening and cutting processes.

Feeding system: Equipped with a coiled steel bar layout frame and a feeding guide mechanism, it includes an anti-threading device and tension adjustment rollers to prevent the steel bars from tangling or deviating during feeding.

Straightening mechanism: Adopts a combined design of multiple sets (usually 6–12 sets) of straightening wheels. The wheels are made of high-hardness alloy (HRC ≥ 60). By adjusting the spacing and angle of the wheel sets, it can adapt to the bending correction of steel bars with different diameters.

Traction system: Driven by double traction rollers (rubber anti-slip rollers or alloy rollers) and servo motors, the traction speed is adjustable (typically 0–60 meters per minute). It stably pulls the steel bars through the straightening mechanism while working with an encoder to achieve precise length measurement.

Cutting execution unit: Mainstream models use hydraulically driven cutting knives made of high-speed steel or alloy tool steel. The cutting stroke is ≤50 millimeters, and the single cutting time is ≤0.5 seconds, allowing continuous high-frequency cutting.

Electronic control system: Centered on a PLC controller and touch screen, it supports parameter settings such as cutting length, cutting quantity, and traction speed. It features a length memory function and fault alarm, with a simple and intuitive operation interface.

Discharge and collection system: Includes discharge guide troughs and finished product collection racks. Some models are equipped with automatic sorting devices, enabling finished products to be classified and stacked according to different length specifications.

Safety protection system: The feeding port is equipped with a protective net, the cutting mechanism has a protective cover, and the system includes an emergency stop button and overload protection device to prevent accidents caused by steel bar ejection or mechanical failure.

 Standardized Production Processes

Parameter preset: Input parameters such as cutting length, batch quantity, and traction speed on the touch screen, and the system automatically matches the straightening and cutting programs.

Raw material feeding: Fix the coiled steel bars on the layout frame, and pull the ends through the feeding guidance mechanism, straightening wheel set, and traction rollers until they reach the cutting knife position.

Straightening and calibration: Start the equipment and run it without load. Adjust the angle and spacing of the straightening wheels while observing the discharge condition of the bars to ensure that there is no obvious bending after straightening.

Trial cutting verification: Perform trial cutting of 1–2 steel bars and measure the cutting length error. If it exceeds the tolerance, fine-tune the parameters of the traction encoder until accuracy meets the standard.

Batch production: Activate automatic mode. The equipment operates continuously according to preset parameters. The traction system pulls the steel bars for straightening, and upon reaching the set length, the cutting knife quickly cuts them. The finished products then fall into the collection system.
