In building structures, the connection of reinforcing bars is a crucial step to ensure overall load-bearing performance. Traditional manual threading and grinding methods are prone to problems such as insufficient thread accuracy and residual surface burrs, which directly affect the strength and safety of the reinforcing bar connection. With the rise of high-standard projects such as prefabricated buildings and large bridges, the requirements for the quality of steel bar connections have become increasingly stringent.
The steel bar threading and grinding production line, as an integrated and automated professional processing system, seamlessly combines the processes of steel bar feeding, sizing, cutting, threading, grinding, and sorting. It achieves standardized and high-precision processing of steel bar threading and grinding. This equipment has become essential for ensuring connection quality and improving production efficiency in modern steel bar processing.
Core Definition and Working Principle
The steel bar threading and grinding production line is an automated system based on numerical control technology, integrating mechanical transmission, hydraulic control, precision grinding, and other technologies. Its core function is to process straight or coiled steel bars (after straightening) into sections with standard threads according to engineering design requirements, and to grind the thread surface and bar ends to remove burrs and flashes, ensuring the tightness and stability of subsequent connections (such as straight-thread couplings).
Its working principle can be summarized in five key stages: "raw material conveying → fixed-length cutting → precision threading → automatic grinding → finished product sorting." Each stage is closely connected, with minimal manual intervention required throughout the process.
-
Raw Material Conveying and Straightening System (Optional)
If the raw material is coiled steel bar, a straightening mechanism is equipped. Through multiple sets of straightening rollers, the coiled bars are straightened to ensure uniformity. Straight steel bars are directly conveyed through roller tracks designed with anti-slip features to prevent slipping and deviation.
Core function: To provide straight and stable raw materials for subsequent processes and reduce errors caused by bar bending.
-
Fixed-Length Cutting System
This system consists of a servo motor, high-precision encoder, and hydraulic cutter. The servo motor drives the roller conveyor to control the bar's conveying length precisely, while the encoder provides real-time position feedback. When the bar reaches the preset length, the hydraulic cutter quickly performs the cut.
Core advantages: Fast cutting speed, smooth cutting surface, no obvious deformation, and cutting accuracy stably controlled within ±1 mm.
-
Precision Threading System
This is the core module of the production line, consisting of a CNC threading head, taps/dies (selected according to thread type), and a hydraulic clamping mechanism. The CNC head enables automatic feeding and tool retraction, while the clamping system ensures the bar remains fixed during threading.
Key parameters: Processable bar diameter range of Φ12–Φ50 mm; adjustable thread specifications; threading efficiency of 30–60 pieces per hour (depending on bar diameter and thread length).
-
Automatic Grinding System
The system is divided into two parts: thread grinding and end grinding. Thread grinding uses flexible brushes or grinding wheels to clean iron filings and burrs in thread gaps. End grinding removes flashes left by cutting to ensure flat bar ends.
Core features: Adjustable grinding force to prevent thread damage, and an integrated dust collection device to reduce dust pollution during processing.
-
Numerical Control System
It adopts an industrial-grade PLC and touch screen, supporting parameter settings (such as bar length, thread specification, and grinding time), program storage (over 100 processing plans), fault alarms (e.g., bar jamming or threading head failure), and output statistics.
Ease of operation: The graphical interface requires no professional programming knowledge. Parameters can be set via touch controls. The system also features power-off memory, allowing it to resume unfinished tasks after restarting.

Finished Product Sorting and Palletizing System
This section includes conveyor belts, photoelectric sorting devices, and optional palletizing robots. The photoelectric sorting system identifies finished products based on length and thread specifications and sends them to corresponding stacking areas. Palletizing robots can stack bars in preset layers, significantly reducing manual handling labor intensity.
