The fully automatic welding workstation for steel cages is an intelligent automated device specially designed for the welding process of steel cages. It focuses on the production of welded steel cage components for infrastructure projects such as bridge pile foundations, tunnel supports, and building foundations, providing standardized and automated welding solutions. As a key piece of equipment for the "intelligent welding process" transformation in the steel bar processing field, it relies on the collaborative operation of the numerical control system and mechanical actuators to achieve precise control and efficient production of the steel cage welding process. It directly determines the welding quality of the engineering structure and the overall construction progress, making it the core welding equipment in the industrialized production of infrastructure.
Core Welding Technology Architecture and Performance Advantages
- Composition of the fully automated welding system
The equipment integrates four key modules around the core welding function to create an unmanned welding operation process:
Steel cage positioning module: Uses a servo-driven precise positioning device to automatically fix and calibrate the main bars and winding bars of the steel cage. The positioning accuracy reaches ±2mm, ensuring every welding point is accurate and error-free, laying a solid foundation for high-quality welding.
Intelligent welding execution module: Equipped with a welding manipulator and advanced MIG welding technology, the single-point welding time can be flexibly adjusted between 0.1 and 0.8 seconds. It supports various commonly used welding modes in engineering, such as full welding, star welding, and intermittent welding. The welding angle control accuracy reaches ±0.2 degrees. The weld seam is uniform, aesthetically pleasing, and mechanically stable.
Welding quality monitoring module: Integrates a high-definition visual inspection system and weld quality sensors to monitor key indicators such as weld formation and penetration depth in real time. It can automatically detect defects such as missed welds, false welds, and weld beads, with a detection accuracy rate of over 98%. It promptly issues warnings and suspends operations if problems are detected.
Automatic unloading module: Equipped with a hydraulic support ring adaptive device, it automatically adjusts the support ring size according to the diameter of the steel cage. After welding is completed, there is no need for manual handling. The finished steel cage is unloaded automatically and smoothly, reducing worker labor intensity and preventing damage to the product during handling.
- Precise control and flexible adaptation capabilities
Welding accuracy strictly controlled: With the aid of a high-precision numerical control system, the spacing of the main bars, the spacing of the winding bars, and the height of the weld feet of the steel cage are precisely controlled. The error of the main bar spacing is ≤2mm, the winding bar spacing is ±1.5mm, and the weld foot height is ≤0.5mm. These precision indicators far exceed national standard requirements, ensuring uniform welding quality across each batch of steel cages.
Flexible adaptation to multiple specifications: Compatible with steel cages with diameters ranging from 800 to 2500mm, suitable for main bars with specifications of Φ16 to 50mm and winding bars with specifications of Φ5 to 12mm (supporting single-bar and double-bar combination structures). No change of welding mold is required. It takes only 3 minutes to switch welding parameters for different cage specifications, meeting the diverse production demands of multiple projects and batches.
- Value in cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and safety assurance
Production efficiency greatly improved: With a dual-station configuration, the fully automatic welding workstation can complete the welding of 25 to 30 standard 12-meter steel cages in a single 8-hour shift-2.5 to 3 times more efficient than traditional manual welding.
Comprehensive upgrade in work safety: The entire process adopts a human-machine separation operation mode, preventing workers from close contact with high-temperature welding torches and slag, thereby reducing welding injury risks by over 95%. The equipment has an IP54 protection rating and operates reliably in harsh environments such as dust and humidity commonly found on infrastructure construction sites, ensuring uninterrupted welding progress.
